The North American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) is definitely an extremely common squirrel in THE UNITED STATES.  It will not be confused with all the Western european Red Squirrels which can be probably the most frequent Eurasian squirrels.

North American Red Squirrels can be found in most parts of the us where conifers are normal.
