The North American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) can be an extremely common squirrel in THE UNITED STATES.  It won't be combined using the Western european Red Squirrels which can be just about the most frequent Eurasian squirrels.

North American Red Squirrels are located for most parts of the usa where conifers are normal. Inside the southern Rockies there is a subspecies that's often refered to because Spruce Squirrel. It isn't practically as red because the squirrels found further north.
