The North American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) can be an extremely common squirrel in THE UNITED STATES. It won't be mixed up with the Western european Red Squirrels which can be just about the most frequent Eurasian squirrels.

North American Red Squirrels are located for most areas of the us where conifers are common. Inside the southern Rockies you will find there's subspecies which is often refered to because Spruce Squirrel. It isn't practically as red since the squirrels found further north.
