The North American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) is definitely an extremely common squirrel in THE UNITED STATES.  It will never be confused with the Western european Red Squirrels that's the most frequent Eurasian squirrels.

North American Red Squirrels can be found in most regions of the usa where conifers are routine.
