The North American Red Squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) is an extremely common squirrel in THE UNITED STATES. It will never be confusing with all the Western european Red Squirrels that is the most frequent Eurasian squirrels.

North American Red Squirrels are situated in many parts of the united states where conifers are normal. Inside the southern Rockies you will find there's subspecies that is often refered to because the Spruce Squirrel. It isn't practically as red because squirrels found further north. Actually, the squirrel outlined on this website would definitely be described as a Spruce Squirrel (it was filmed at 10,000 legs out in the wild near Fairplay, Colorado).
